What are Recreational Kayaks?
Our Recreational "sit-inside" Kayaks are designed for the casual paddler interested in fishing, photography, or a peaceful paddle on a lake. Compared to other kayaks, recreational kayaks are characterized by having a larger cockpit opening for easy entry and exit with a wider beam (27-30 inches) for more stability on the water. They are generally less than twelve feet in length, which makes them slower than a longer boat, but lighter, easier to handle in and out of the water. These boats are easy to maneuver and rather stable, perfect for the beginner.
About Lake Kayaking
Recreational kayaks are built for lakes for those who want to paddle around on calm water without paddling for long distances. Lake Kayaking is a great way to experience a peaceful get-away, whether it ís to relieve stress or to reconnect with nature. It allows you the freedom of the open water to explore as you please or maybe to get to those hard-to-reach fishing spots. We also recommend bringing a pair of binoculars and a bird identification field guide. Lake Kayaking is a great way to get up-close snap shots of the local wildlife.
